Scooter Winner at Beer Bust

Posted: November 6, 2010 in Fundraisers

Congrats to Ed Felix who won the new Yamaha Zuma Scooter!  Thanks to everyone who bought tickets for the scooter raffle at Hudson and Smarty Pants.  The scooter was a vital part of this year’s fundraising.  Thanks for all of your support!  All proceeds were donated to Gilda’s Club on Capital Hill.  Bummed you didn’t win it?  Well head on over to our sponsor, Eastside Motosports of Bellevue, and treat yourself to a new ride!

We have been busy planning our 7th annual fundraiser.  The event started as “BreastFest” for the first five years.  We tried to do something a little different and called the 6th fundraiser “Oktoberbreast”.  We got in trouble.  Who knew a little place like us could get in trouble with trademarking laws.  So, the 7th annual fundraiser will still be a beer festival and we are calling it “Beer Bust”.

BreastFest started off as a way to raise funds for our friend Noelle Mayhew who was battling breast cancer.  Noelle passed away two years ago but we have not forgotten her.  I think she would like this event immensely.  She loved beer and live bands.  Beer Bust has both!

All proceeds from the event continue to go to Gilda’s Club Seattle on Capital Hill.  The foundation was started in memory of Gilda Radner of Saturday Night Live.  Gilda’s Club provides meeting places where men, women and children living with cancer and their families and friends join with others to build emotional, social and educational support as a supplement to medical care. Free of charge and nonprofit, they offer support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events in a nonresidential, homelike setting.  Check out their website at the following link:

Stay tuned for more details about the event.  We hope to see you on September 11th at Smarty Pants.  We will have plenty of local brewers on hand, as well as live music, prizes, and games!  Event starts at 4pm.

Come on down for Bike night at Smarty Pants.  We will be playing the 10th round of MotoGP from the Czech Republic.   Automotodrom Brno!  Races start at 7pm every Wednesday.

Round 10 of the MotoGP 2010 season

Instead of digging back far in the archives let’s start with current news.  Check out this awesome article in American Motorcyclist.  The June 2010 edition has an article about a female rider by the name of Rashmi Tambe.  Her picture shows her sporting a hot Smarty Pants t-shirt.  To find our more about her adventures check out www.Red-Baroness.net.  Also, I really don’t know how to blog yet so I have attached a copy of the full article too.  My pdf file was huge, so I’m including a snapshot.
